Terms of Service

• You must be 18 or older, and the information you sign up with must be accurate.
• Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and should tell us if you think someone else got in.
• One person per account. Don't sign up for someone else without their permission.

Bank connections are optional and are provided by Plaid. When you connect a bank, you authorize Claros to retrieve your account and transaction data through Plaid, and you agree to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Only connect accounts you're allowed to access. You can disconnect a bank at any time in Settings.

Banks and Plaid sometimes send data late, incomplete, or wrong. Claros shows what it receives, and suggests categories automatically, but can't guarantee either is accurate. Check anything that matters against your bank.

Claros is a tool for organizing your own money. Nothing in it is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and Claros doesn't move money or make payments on your behalf. Decisions about your money are yours.

Don't use Claros to break the law, and don't try to:

• get into another person's account or data;
• probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or get around its security;
• copy, resell, or build a competing product from the service itself.

Your budget is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Claros for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete it, and your account, at any time.

Claros is new and still changing. Features may be added, changed, or removed. If we ever charge for Claros, we'll tell you the price before you pay anything. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; you can stop using Claros and delete your account whenever you like.

Claros is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep it accurate, available, and secure, but can't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, Claros isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for decisions made using information in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Claros afterwards means you accept the new terms.
